Athens is a blank canvass for savvy travelers with various inclinations. Packed to the brim with marvelous sights, sumptuous cuisines and terrific nightlife, it will always be difficult to decide, from where to start. The smart way is not to haste for everything, rather go for the selected attractions of the city and grasp the true essence of this euphoric capital.

The Acropolis always sprung up to the surface when we hear of Athens. The most revered ancient sight of the Western World with Colosseum (Rome) being the only rival. It inspires even the most fatigued travelers as they ascend the marble escalators and submit to the. Views from here are mesmerizing, with city reaching far out to the horizon. Adoring its beauty under a full moon is sensuous.

Plaka is the city’s oldest locality nestled on the slopes of the Acropolis. This is the old Ottoman seat, stacked with ecstasies and swarmed by cafes, boutiques and awe-inspiring architecture. Definitely a soothing retreat to the wanderers, but its labyrinthine of cobbled avenues is perfect to lose all sense of directions, giving tourist a chance to savor the delightful coffee unveil its magic during the nightfall, and is swayed by elegant hotels. Acropolis House Pension is a historical centre that gives intriguing insights into the olden Greek days.

Varvakios Agora is the Athens’ heart, bustling yet captivating. Locals come here to shop and bargain for household’s items, and kitchen necessities like olive oil and slabs of meat. This is the best way to know about the life of the locals and Greek’s dining scene. The city’s are best served in the meat market. Papandreou is a standout among these restaurants.
