Greece is mostly mountainous, and this is what makes it every hiker’s fantasy. The mountain of gods- Mt Olympus can also be conquered. The infrastructure is well-developed around the majority of the trails and the rest of the trials are nothing more than an abandoned sheep’s path. Hiking across the islands is truly serendipitous, from kalderimia’s cobbled streets to monopatia’s, monks trail connecting various monasteries and settlements.

Earlier they used removable ladders which were hung up from the top and tied to a tree.

The Adhakriti which (obelisk) is an impressive spire, and it can be seen from any point of Kastraki. Watch out for the cave-chapel of Agiou Andonios facing east.
